Dumping the coal at the South Mississippi Power Assoc. Plant...Purvis, MS
The following photos are of the SMEX 306.
Here is the engines history;
GE 45 Tonner
Sir. # 13005
1) Built new 4/1941 as US Army #7322
2) Later became US Navy # 65-00505
3) Later became Port Bienville RR # 1
4) Now lives today as SMEX # 306
This unit now belongs to the South MS Power Assn.,
located at the R. D. Morrow Generating Plant, Purvis, MS.
Its duties are track maint. train for the loop of track inside the plant where coal hoppres come in & out to be dumped.
